Well, it’s been a week since being sent onto the mission field and it definitely started off not as expected. When my squad arrived in Costa Rica, that’s when I found out that me, and another one of my team-mates, tested positive for Covid and would not being going to Nicaragua with the rest of our squad. Thankfully, both of us never felt terribly sick, but it definitely wasn’t fun being quarantined while our squad was doing ministry. I also get the WORST FOMO (fear of missing out) and that part of this week was probably the worst. But, it did make me super excited to reunite with my squad after seeing how much fun and fruit they have been seeing this past week! Here in Costa Rica, we were able to have a little fun as well…After quarantining for several days and a negative covid test, my covid-sister and I busted out and explored a little bit! It ended up being such a cool experience in Costa Rica. I’m so excited to come back here in a month to do ministry and see more of this beautiful country!
I had a whole plan for this blog of how I was going to talk about my first week in Nicaragua and doing ministry there, but instead this week looked very different than I expected. Slow days, Netflix-binging, online shopping…(hey, mom and dad, if you’re reading this I did order something to the house so be on the lookout for that, thanks!) But, I guess things going not as planned is something you have to get used to doing missionary work, right?
Talk to ya’ll when I’m in Nicaragua!!
